Mother

Mother was founded in 2010 by Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding, launching with a vintage-inspired denim collection at a moment when the market was dominated by black skinny jeans. The brand has kept manufacturing close to home: about 95% of its overall production happens in Los Angeles, and 99% of its denim is made within a 14-mile radius of its design studio. Its signature move is naming each cut with character rather than a size code - The Insider, The Hustler, The Dodger, and others. Mother has grown from a denim-only label into broader ready-to-wear while keeping its LA manufacturing base central to its story.
