Onan Koffie & Thee

Onan has run as a coffee roaster in central Leuven since 2004, sourcing green beans through direct relationships with growers rather than buying through a general importer, and roasting them at a dedicated facility on Vaartstraat. The retail side sells bagged beans and loose-leaf teas from the shop, but roasting for other businesses makes up a real share of the operation: Onan roasts and packs coffee for cafes and other hospitality accounts around Leuven, running a wholesale line alongside its own storefront. That combination - direct-sourced green coffee, its own roastery, and a client list of other local cafes buying roasted product - has kept the business running for two decades in a city with no shortage of specialty coffee competition. The shop itself functions as the visible end of a larger roasting operation rather than the whole of it, with the Vaartstraat facility doing the work that supplies both the counter and the wholesale accounts from the same batches.
