What Oose Shoten is known for
Oose Shoten has sold Oshima tsumugi, the mud-dyed silk woven on Amami Oshima for about 1,300 years, from its Kagoshima City shop since 1930. Beyond kimono bolts that can take months to weave, the shop sells everyday items made from the same handwoven, naturally dyed silk and runs factory tours and weaving demonstrations for visitors.
