What Pero by Aneeth Arora is known for

New Delhi label launched in 2008 by designer Aneeth Arora; combines hand embroidery and traditional Indian textile craft with a playful, Western-inflected silhouette.

Pero, whose name means 'to wear' in Marwari, was launched in 2008 by Aneeth Arora, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology who went on to study at India's National Institute of Design. Arora spent extensive time with craftspeople learning dyeing, weaving and embroidery techniques, and every Pero garment reportedly passes through the hands of at least half a dozen artisans before completion. The label combines these traditional Indian textile crafts with a Western-leaning design sensibility across women's, men's and children's lines, and has since expanded into home decor. Pero is stocked in roughly 20 countries and has shown at Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo in Florence.
