Costantino Repossi founded his goldsmith house in Turin in 1957, and the family moved its stage to Place Vendôme in 1986 — Italian jewelers on French jewelry's holiest square. But the maison's modern identity belongs to the fourth generation: Gaia Repossi, appointed artistic director in 2010 at 21, an archaeology and fine-arts student who redrew the catalogue with a minimalist's nerve.
Her Berbère collection — parallel gold bands inspired by Amazigh culture, climbing the ear as fashion's definitive ear cuff — made Repossi the jewelry of the art-and-fashion crowd; Serti Sur Vide set stones in apparent thin air; Antifer stacked geometry into signatures. Piercing-style delicacy replaced dynastic pomp, and the white-cube Vendôme boutique, redesigned by Rem Koolhaas's OMA, made the position architectural.
LVMH invested in 2015 and built its stake to a majority, keeping Gaia at the pencil. Repossi remains the square's contemporary conscience: Italian goldsmith bones, Parisian address, and the rare high-jewelry house whose customer is younger than its metal.
