Roberto Collina

Bologna

What Roberto Collina is known for

Family knitwear house founded in 1953 in Crevalcore, near Bologna, by Adelmo Collina and Livia Setti; their son Roberto launched the namesake menswear line at Pitti Uomo in the early 1980s, adding womenswear in 1990.

The label traces to 1953, when Adelmo Collina and his wife Livia Setti started a small knitwear workshop, with an attached training school, in Crevalcore, a town north of Bologna. In the years after the Second World War the operation produced sweaters for German and other Northern European markets. In the early 1980s their son Roberto Collina put his own name on a small capsule collection of men's jumpers, presented at the Pitti Uomo trade fair in Florence. A women's collection followed in 1990. The company remains based in Crevalcore, where it now employs more than 50 people.
