What Rudy's Pastry Shop is known for
Rudy's opened in Ridgewood, Queens in 1934 as the neighborhood's German bakery. Ralph DiFonzo bought the shop in 1980 with his niece Antonetta Binanti, a Naples-born immigrant, who kept traditional strudel, Bienenstich, and Linzer tart recipes alive.
