What Scarpelli Mosaici is known for
Renzo Scarpelli founded this workshop in 1960 to practice commesso fiorentino, the inlaying of hard and semi-precious stones into pictorial panels. The family cuts Tuscan paesina and gabbro alongside lapis lazuli and malachite into landscapes and still lifes, with a gallery near the Duomo.
