What Schultz-Segel is known for
Friedrich Schulz founded this sail loft in 1897; the firm has since sewn racing and cruising sails for clients from Prince Heinrich of Prussia to the four-masted bark now sailing as the Sea Cloud. Today's Schultz-Segel GmbH still builds spinnakers, gennakers, rigging, and canvas covers from its Kiel loft using computer-plotted patterns.
