Stow Coffee

Gosposka 15 & Poljanski nasip 40 (Galerija Cukrarna)

What Stow Coffee is known for

Stow roasts its own beans in Kamnik and pours them at two Ljubljana cafés, including one inside the Cukrarna gallery. Since 2015 the team has also run an SCA-certified coffee academy, sourcing origins like Panama and Rwanda directly.

Stow roasts at a facility in Kamnik and serves the results from two cafés in Ljubljana — one on Gosposka street, a second inside the Cukrarna gallery at the Mestni muzej Ljubljana — keeping roasting and retail in two different Slovenian towns rather than one combined site. Since 2015 the company has also run Akademija Kave, an SCA-certified coffee academy, training baristas with the same seriousness it applies to sourcing green beans, rather than treating education as an afterthought to the retail business.

The bean list draws from Rwanda, Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil and Panama, roasted light rather than dark, on a stated goal of restoring what the company calls coffee's "identity of flavor" instead of roasting past origin character. All coffee sells exclusively in bean form — no ready-to-drink or capsule lines — and origin trips to source farms feed a rotating limited series called Stow Rare, distinct from the standing single-origin list.

Between a dedicated coffee academy running since 2015 and a light-roast philosophy applied across five sourcing countries, Stow reads as an education-and-sourcing operation as much as a café chain.
