Angiolini built the store's reputation by stocking labels before they were widely available in Italy, and over time Sugar evolved from a single boutique into a broader concept space combining clothing, accessories, art and design. Since 2018 the store has occupied Palazzo Lambardi, a restored Renaissance and Baroque building at Corso Italia 60, featuring seventeenth-century frescoes and original wooden ceilings.
