Tinsels was founded in Lyon in 2012 by Remi Regazzoni and Julien Doligez, who met as students at the fashion school ESMOD. The brand is built around French textile craftsmanship, working with natural materials and collaborating with French artisans and manufacturers to keep production domestic. Its debut boutique opened in Lyon's Ainay neighborhood in 2014, and the brand began expanding to Paris and other French cities from 2015 onward. The collections favor relaxed, quietly feminine ready-to-wear, with some pieces made in Italy.
