TOUS began in 1920 as a small watch-repair shop in Manresa, near Barcelona, founded by Salvador Tous Blavi and his wife Teresa Ponsa Mas. In 1965 their son, also named Salvador Tous, took over the business with his wife Rosa Oriol; the couple began designing and producing their own jewelry in 1970. In 1985, Rosa Oriol created the teddy-bear pendant that would become the brand's defining symbol. The founders' four daughters joined the business in the 1990s and now hold senior roles, keeping it family-run four generations on.
