What Undefeated is known for
Sneaker and streetwear specialist founded in 2002 by James Bond and Eddie Cruz on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, evolving from an early sneaker boutique into an in-house label known for collaborations with Nike, Jordan, and BAPE.
Undefeated opened its first store on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles in 2002, founded by James Bond and Eddie Cruz. Bond had previously run a men's haberdashery, K-Bond, stocking accessories, footwear, clothing, books, art, and music; with Cruz he narrowed that concept into a dedicated sneaker boutique. The store's five-stripe flag logo became one of the more recognizable marks in sneaker retail. A few years after opening, Undefeated expanded from curating releases into producing its own in-house streetwear line, developing collaborations with Nike, New Era, the U.S. Soccer Federation, and Japanese labels such as BAPE. The brand grew from its single La Brea storefront into roughly a dozen 'chapter' stores across the US and Japan.
