What WeDressFair is known for

Founded 2018 in Lyon by Antoine Coulaud, Marie Nguyen and Kévin Chavanne after the Ticket for Change entrepreneurship program; the ethical-fashion marketplace now curates around 150 brands, including Veja and Patagonia.

WeDressFair was founded in Lyon in 2018 by Antoine Coulaud, a former financial auditor at KPMG, alongside Marie Nguyen, who had worked in cancer research at the Institut Curie, and Kévin Chavanne. The three had gone through the 2017 cohort of Ticket for Change, a French entrepreneurship program aimed at social-impact founders, before building the ethical-fashion platform. WeDressFair operates as a curated marketplace, screening the roughly 150 brands it now carries — including Patagonia, Nudie Jeans and Veja — against three stated criteria: working conditions, environmental impact, and how transparent a brand is about its production methods and its own limitations. Beyond the online marketplace, the company runs two physical shops: its original Lyon boutique at 4 rue des Capucins and a newer location in Paris. The founders' backgrounds in finance and medical research, rather than fashion, shaped the platform's approach — an audit-style screening process for suppliers rather than a purely curatorial or trend-led selection.
