Sustainability is built into the business model rather than treated as an add-on: the roastery commits 1% of every purchase to Great Barrier Reef restoration work through a stated partnership with the Resilient Reefs Foundation. White Whale also runs a structured education program out of its roastery, including a Barista Fundamentals Class, a Home Barista Class, a Milk & Latte Art Class, and public coffee cupping sessions open to customers rather than only trade buyers.
