White Whale Coffee Roasters

White Whale has roasted from Portsmith, Queensland since 2010, running a house lineup of named blends - Beach House, Riptide, Stone Hammer and Carpenters - alongside single-origin and filter offerings such as a Guatemala Bromelias Washed and a Timor-Leste Railaco Natural. Sustainability is built into the business model rather than treated as an add-on: the roastery commits 1% of every purchase to Great Barrier Reef restoration work through a stated partnership with the Resilient Reefs Foundation. White Whale also runs a structured education program out of its roastery, including a Barista Fundamentals Class, a Home Barista Class, a Milk & Latte Art Class, and public coffee cupping sessions open to customers rather than only trade buyers. Between the named single-origin lots (Guatemala and Timor-Leste specifically, not just "Central America" or "Asia") and the explicit reef-restoration percentage, White Whale positions itself as a roastery willing to be specific about both where its coffee comes from and where its profits go, rather than leaning on vaguer sustainability language.
