<p>Mike Amiri founded his label in Los Angeles in 2014, and the city is the whole methodology. His earliest work was one-off stage pieces for Sunset Strip royalty — leathers and shredded denim built for performers — and the house scaled that backstage intimacy into luxury: the MX1 jean with its plaid-backed knee slashes, hand-distressed in LA, glam-rock's wardrobe rebuilt at Italian-fabric quality.</p><p>The distressing is the craft claim. Where most destroyed denim is factory-programmed, Amiri's ateliers treat each pair as surface work — hand-ripping, patching, underlaying leather and flannel — so the damage reads as biography rather than decoration. Around the denim grew a full house: skate-referencing sneakers, louche tailoring, silk shirts with a Laurel Canyon drawl.</p><p>Amiri now shows in Paris on the official calendar, one of the few American names to hold that stage on its own terms, while design and much of the make stay rooted in Los Angeles. The proposition has never moved: the city's rock mythology, taken seriously enough to be sewn properly.</p>
