What Apotek 57 is known for
Frama's café inside its Studio Store at Fredericiagade 57 in Nyboder: bread and pastries out of the kitchen each morning, coffee and simple seasonal plates from a menu curated by chef Chiara Barla, served amid Danish design objects.
Apotek 57 is Frama's café inside the Danish design brand's Studio Store in the Nyboder district of Copenhagen, open to the public since October 1, 2020. The kitchen is run by chef Chiara Barla, whose rotating menu keeps to a simple brief: seasonal ingredients, house-made baked goods, and daily snacks and drinks built around the highest quality available rather than elaborate technique. Bread and pastries come out of the kitchen each morning alongside a changing lineup of coffee and light bites, served inside a store better known for its lighting fixtures and furniture than its food.
The café doubles as the studio's public front room — Frama describes it as an inclusive gathering place meant for locals and design enthusiasts passing through Nyboder alike, open seven days a week (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, weekends 9am-4pm). There's no separate dining-room theater here: the draw is eating inside a working design showroom, watching a small kitchen turn out plain, well-made food to people who came for the furniture and stayed for lunch.
