Arc'teryx Factory Store

Arc'teryx was founded in North Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1989 by climbers Dave Lane and Jeremy Guard, originally under the name Rock Solid; the company adopted the Arc'teryx name in 1991 as it began making technical outerwear and climbing gear for the Coast Mountains surrounding Vancouver. After a period headquartered in Burnaby starting in 1999, the company's head office moved back to North Vancouver in 2005 and remains there. The Arc'teryx location at 2155 Dollarton Highway operates as a factory outlet rather than a standard retail flagship: within Arc'teryx's own store network, outlets are positioned as a source for discounted past-season and discontinued products, distinct from brand stores, which the company describes as spaces for customer education about its gear systems. Arc'teryx has since opened brand stores and flagships elsewhere, including an expanded flagship on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver in 2025 and an urban store in New York's SoHo, both positioned differently from the North Vancouver outlet within the company's own store hierarchy.
