What Blumarine is known for

Milan-shown fashion house founded in Carpi in 1977 by Anna Molinari and Gianpaolo Tarabini, the name drawn from the couple's affinity for the sea. Built its identity on romantic, rose-motif womenswear from the 1980s, later expanding via the Blufin group into Blugirl and Miss Blumarine lines.

Blumarine was founded in Carpi, province of Modena, in 1977 by Anna Molinari and Gianpaolo Tarabini. The label debuted at Milan's Modit trade show in 1980, the same year Molinari won the Designer of the Year title. Blumarine's identity became closely tied to romantic, floral silhouettes and a recurring rose motif, earning Molinari the nickname 'Queen of Roses.' In 1988, the founders established the Blufin group to manage the brand's growth, which came to include the Blugirl line and childrenswear line Miss Blumarine.
