Bode

New York

What Bode is known for

New York menswear label founded 2016 by Emily Adams Bode (now Bode Aujla), built around one-of-a-kind garments made from antique quilts, vintage bed linens and grain sacks; first woman to show at New York Fashion Week: Men's, 2018.

Bode was launched in New York in 2016 by Atlanta-born designer Emily Adams Bode, a Parsons/Eugene Lang graduate in menswear design and philosophy. The label is defined by its use of globally sourced antique textiles - New England quilts, 1920s French bed linens, southeastern-U.S. grain sacks - reworked using historical techniques such as quilting, mending, patchwork, sashiko, boro and applique. In 2018 Bode became the first female designer to present at New York Fashion Week: Men's; in June 2019 she staged her first runway show at Paris Fashion Week Men's. The brand sells direct-to-consumer and through roughly 30 brick-and-mortar retailers worldwide, and launched a womenswear line in 2023.
