Elena Miro was launched in 1985 by the Miroglio Group, the Alba, Piedmont-based textile and fashion company founded in 1947 by Giuseppe Miroglio. The brand was created specifically to dress fuller, curvier figures at a time when plus-size womenswear had little presence in mainstream Italian fashion. Since 2005, Elena Miro has been the only plus-size brand to show on the official calendar of Milano Moda Donna, Milan's womenswear fashion week. It remains part of the wider Miroglio Group portfolio, which also includes labels such as Motivi, Oltre and Fiorella Rubino.
