Etudes Studio was established in 2012 by Jeremie Egry and Aurelien Arbet, who met as teenagers near Grenoble through a shared interest in graffiti and later reconnected on Paris's graffiti scene in the late 1990s. Jose Lamali joined as a third founding member, and the trio built the operation across two cities from the outset: Paris and New York (specifically Brooklyn). Rather than functioning only as a clothing brand, Etudes operates as a self-described collective spanning three activities: a menswear line, a publishing arm producing its own books, and a creative agency taking on outside client work. The studio has collaborated with musicians, visual artists and typographers as part of that broader practice.
