Everyday Music

Portland

What Everyday Music is known for

Independent Portland record store open since 1995; now trades from a single downtown storefront at 1313 W Burnside after downsizing. Its Seattle Capitol Hill branch and other Portland locations have since closed.

Everyday Music was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1995 and expanded to three Portland stores within a few years, later adding a Seattle location on Capitol Hill's 10th Avenue. The Seattle store closed in 2021; former staff salvaged some signage and fixtures but opened a different shop, Royal Records, rather than continuing the Everyday Music name. In Portland the business has also contracted, closing its eastside location and shrinking its downtown Burnside store to half its original footprint. As of its current site, Everyday Music operates from a single storefront at 1313 W Burnside, Portland, open 11am-8pm, 363 days a year, selling new and used CDs, vinyl and DVDs.
