Farmacia SS. Annunziata's history is dated to 1561, when Domenico Brunetti - registered three years earlier in Florence's Guild of Physicians and Pharmacists - opened an apothecary on Via dei Servi, in a building belonging to the nuns of San Niccolo near the Duomo. The shop originally sold medicinal herbs and prepared remedies. The Azzerlini family has run the business since 1970, and in June 2018 opened a second Florence location on Via Porta Rossa. Today the house makes fragrances, home scents, diffusers and candles, and skincare and body-care lines, some still produced to older galenic formulas associated with its pharmacy origins.
