What Inès de la Fressange is known for

Ines de la Fressange's own fashion house, launched 1991 in partnership with the Vuitton family; flagship boutique opened 2015 at 24 rue de Grenelle in a restored 19th-century bronze foundry.

Ines de la Fressange Paris was founded in 1991 in partnership with the Vuitton family, building a lifestyle label around the reputation of its namesake founder - a former runway model and muse to Karl Lagerfeld who in 1983 became the first model to sign an exclusive global contract with a luxury house (Chanel). Vogue later described her as embodying the 'ideal Frenchwoman.' The label's first standalone boutique did not open until 2015, at 24 rue de Grenelle in Paris's 7th arrondissement - a roughly 2,150-square-foot space inside a former bronze foundry, restored to preserve its original glass roof and Napoleon III-era cabinetry. Beyond ready-to-wear, the house sells accessories, home objects, stationery and fragrance, all built around de la Fressange's own idea of understated, slightly irreverent Parisian style.
