What Kulte is known for

Marseille streetwear label founded 1998 by Anthony Tejedor and Serge Bordonaro, known for graphic underground-inspired t-shirts. Acquired in 2016 by Guillaume Flahaut and Nicolas Faure and now headquartered in Montpellier.

Kulte began in Marseille in 1998, started by a collective of friends drawn from art, graphic design and music, with Anthony Tejedor and Serge Bordonaro credited as founders. The label's early success came from graphic t-shirts inspired by underground and alternative culture, which found favour with French media personalities of the era, including the duo Kad et Olivier and TV host Thierry Ardisson. Over time Kulte broadened from t-shirts into a fuller menswear and womenswear range plus accessories. In 2016 the brand was acquired by Guillaume Flahaut and Nicolas Faure, and Kulte's operations have since relocated from its Marseille birthplace to Montpellier.
