L'AGENCE was founded in Los Angeles in 2008 by Jeff Rudes, who had already built the cult denim label J Brand in 2005 after decades in the denim business. With L'AGENCE, Rudes set out to marry the relaxed ease associated with California style with a more polished, Parisian sensibility. The brand's early identity was rooted in Hollywood, quickly picking up a following among celebrities and stylists, largely on the strength of its denim. It has since expanded well beyond jeans into a full ready-to-wear collection and become a regular presence at New York Fashion Week.
