What Laurence Bras is known for
Paris womenswear label launched in 2015 by designer Laurence Doligé, who earlier founded Madame à Paris (1997) and spent a decade based in New Delhi before starting her own eponymous line.
Laurence Bras is the eponymous label of designer Laurence Doligé, who grew up around fabric and craftsmanship in her mother's small Parisian workshop and launched her own boutique in her hometown of Rouen as a young designer in the late 1980s. In 1997 she founded the Paris label Madame à Paris, building a following for her ready-to-wear. In 2007 she relocated to New Delhi, India, living and working there for roughly a decade before selling her stake in Madame à Paris in 2010. She launched her current eponymous label, LAURENCE BRAS, in 2015, drawing on the prints, landscapes and craft traditions she absorbed during her years in India and filtering them through a Paris-rooted sense of fluid, relaxed tailoring.
