What Léon & Harper is known for
Parisian womenswear label founded in 2010 by Philippe Corbin, son of historian Alain Corbin; named after two characters, Léon and Harper, with bohemian-chic collections; opened its first Paris boutique in 2013 and now sells through roughly 400 points of sale worldwide.
Léon & Harper was launched in 2010 in Paris by Philippe Corbin, whose father is the historian Alain Corbin, known for works such as 'Le Miasme et la Jonquille.' The brand's name comes from two imagined characters — Léon, described as a free-spirited, curious boy, and Harper, an independent, self-assured woman — who set the tone for its bohemian, easygoing aesthetic aimed largely at young women. The label built its identity around relaxed, wearable pieces with a rock-influenced edge: prints, layering staples and a mix of comfort and personality rather than overtly directional design. Its first physical store opened in Paris in April 2013, conceived as a flexible space that could convert in the evenings into an art gallery or a small concert venue rather than function only as a conventional shop. Léon & Harper has since grown to around five stores of its own in Paris while distributing its collections through more than 400 retail points internationally, including multi-brand boutiques across France and abroad. The brand has also extended into a perfume line carrying the Léon & Harper name.
