What Maison Kitsuné is known for
Paris fashion house founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaec, former manager of Daft Punk, and Japanese architect Masaya Kuroki; launched its clothing line in 2005 alongside Cafe Kitsune and the Kitsune Musique record label.
Maison Kitsune was founded in Paris in 2002 by Gildas Loaec, a former manager of Daft Punk who ran a Paris record shop, and Masaya Kuroki, a Japanese architect. The two met through Loaec's shop and, after collaborating on a music video shoot in Japan, decided to build a lifestyle brand not confined to a single discipline. Music came first, through the Kitsune Musique label; the clothing line followed in 2005, and the brand later added Cafe Kitsune as a third pillar. In 2016 Japanese fashion group Stripe International took a minority equity stake in the company.
