What Maje is known for
Paris ready-to-wear label founded in 1998 by Judith Milgrom; part of the SMCP group formed in 2010 alongside Sandro, Claudie Pierlot and De Fursac, known for a bohemian, rock-inflected take on Parisian style.
Maje is a Paris fashion label founded in 1998 by designer Judith Milgrom. The brand's name is built from the initials of the family behind it: M for Milgrom's maiden name Moyal, A for her brother and co-founder Alain, J for Judith herself, and E for her sister Evelyne, who separately founded the label Sandro. Maje became part of SMCP Group, formed in 2010 through the merger of Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot (the group later added the menswear house De Fursac). SMCP has since grown into a multinational fashion group with international store networks and a stock listing. Maje's collections are positioned as contemporary and feminine, mixing ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear with a bohemian, rock-inflected sensibility the brand markets as distinctly Parisian.
