What Mazet de Montargis is known for
The Prasline de Montargis — the caramelized almond that gave the praline its name — was created in the town in 1636, and Maison Mazet has made it since Léon Mazet bought the recipe and opened his shop in 1903. Pralines and house-made chocolate are produced at its lab in neighboring Amilly, and the firm has held France's Living Heritage Enterprise designation since 2016.
