What Moreschi is known for
Vigevano shoemaker since 1946, producing high-end Italian leather footwear using traditional construction methods in the Lombardy shoe city.
Moreschi was established in October 1946 in Vigevano by Mario Moreschi, following his apprenticeship at RIV, a historic shoe factory in the same city. The company began as Calzaturificio Biellese with two partners, deliberately pursuing high-quality artisanal production rather than volume market manufacturing—initially producing approximately twenty pairs daily. Mario Moreschi's commitment to craftsmanship and precision set the brand's trajectory. Upon Mario's death in November 1957, his son Gian Beppe assumed leadership and expanded the company's international presence significantly, establishing Moreschi as a luxury footwear name globally. Vigevano, known as Italy's primary shoemaking district, provided both the technical expertise and the supply chains necessary for sustained quality. The brand continues producing premium men's footwear using leather working methods refined over seven decades, maintaining headquarters and production in Vigevano to this day.
