Obusedo makes chestnut confections in Obuse, the town famed for chestnuts, using house-cooked kuri-an in everything from traditional kuri-kanoko and yokan to Mont Blanc and baked sweets. Its shops and eateries cluster in a restored quarter of old warehouses, drawing crowds each autumn for the seasonal Suzaku chestnut dessert.
