Petrelli Uomo was founded in the 1980s by Giuseppe Petrelli in Martina Franca, a town in the Taranto province of Puglia with a longstanding local tailoring and manufacturing tradition. The company built its name on men's ceremonial tailoring — suits for weddings and formal occasions — cut using traditional Italian sartorial methods. After Giuseppe's passing, his three children, Italo, Pierangelo and Livianna Petrelli, took over the business and expanded its collections while keeping production in Italy. Under their direction the brand introduced newer, higher-end ceremony lines — marketed under names including Infinity, Skyline and Etnica — alongside its classic Petrelli Uomo 1941 line, using fabrics such as Super 150s wool and silk-mohair blends. Petrelli Uomo does not sell to consumers from a single flagship; its collections are distributed through a network of independent bridal and ceremony ateliers across Italy, and the company exhibits at trade fairs such as the Fiera Promessi Sposi in Bari.
