What Rebag is known for
Luxury handbag resale platform founded 2014 by Charles Gorra, with retail locations in New York, Los Angeles and Miami; its Clair AI tool, launched February 2021, prices authenticated bags via image recognition.
Rebag was founded in 2014 by Charles Gorra, who previously worked at Rent the Runway and in investment banking. The company built its business on buying designer handbags directly from sellers for upfront cash, then reselling them, and has since opened seven physical retail locations across New York, Los Angeles and Miami alongside its e-commerce operation. In October 2019 it launched Clair, a data-driven pricing tool, and followed in February 2021 with Clair AI, described as an image-recognition system that identifies a handbag and returns its estimated resale value within seconds, covering more than 50 brands. Rebag has raised a reported $68 million in funding over its history.
