What Sessùn is known for

French womenswear label founded in Marseille in 1996 by designer Emma Francois, whose travels through Guatemala shaped a boho-chic aesthetic of earthy tones, natural fabrics and relaxed, feminine tailoring; opened its first Paris store in 2004.

Sessun was founded in Marseille in 1996 by Emma Francois, a former anthropology student from Montpellier. A trip to Guatemala at age 21 exposed her to local craftsmanship and shaped the label's guiding idea of mixing traditional know-how with urban fashion silhouettes. She opened Sessun's first store in Paris, on Rue de Charonne, in 2004. The brand's boho-chic identity grew into a network of roughly 400 retail points across France and internationally. In 2019, Sessun opened 'Sessun Alma' in Marseille, a lifestyle space combining retail with crafts and dining.
