Tlb Mallorca

TLB takes its name from founder Toni Llobera Barceló's initials. Inca, on Mallorca, was the island's historic shoemaking center -- by the 1930s the town held roughly 100 shoe factories, though fewer than five remain today. Llobera's father and grandfather spent more than 40 years making leather belts and accessories in Inca, and Llobera himself worked for years in shoe manufacturing, including as factory manager at Yanko, once Inca's largest producer at around 600 employees and a million pairs of shoes a year in the 1990s. He later took over a women's-shoe factory in Inca and converted it to men's Goodyear-welted construction, founding TLB in 2010 together with entrepreneur Esteban Alcina, whose own factory carried more than 45 years of production experience for luxury brands. Every stage of manufacture -- from cutting the uppers to final finishing -- is done in-house in Inca, drawing on leather from French and Italian tanneries across more than 150 individual production steps.
