Tsutsumi-yaki Kenba Kiln has fired Sendai's 300-year-old Tsutsumi pottery tradition using locally sourced clay and glazes, working from a kiln and exhibition hall in Izumi-ku on the edge of Sendai. Visitors can buy hand-thrown pieces directly at the exhibition hall, which is open daily, and arrange a look at the working kiln by request.
