What Vanessa Seward is known for
Paris-based fashion label of designer Vanessa Seward, artistic director of Azzaro from 2003 to 2011 after working at Chanel and with Tom Ford at Yves Saint Laurent. Her eponymous line has included collaborations with A.P.C. and La Redoute.
Vanessa Seward was born in Argentina in 1969, grew up partly in London, and moved to Paris at age twelve. She worked nine years as an accessories designer at Chanel starting in 1991, then with Tom Ford at Yves Saint Laurent, before becoming second-in-command at Loris Azzaro's house in 2002. Following founder Loris Azzaro's death in 2003, Seward took over as artistic director of Azzaro until 2011. After leaving Azzaro she joined Jean Touitou at A.P.C. to launch a ready-to-wear capsule collection, and later developed her own eponymous label, which has also collaborated with La Redoute.
