What Duvetica is known for
Italian down-outerwear house founded 2002 near Venice by Giampiero Pagliano, former president of Moncler. Piumini made from French grey-goose down, sewn at a specialist Bulgarian factory; built its early reputation in Japan.
Duvetica was founded in 2002 in Moriano Veneto, near Venice, by Giampiero Pagliano after he left his post as president of Moncler to start an independent down-outerwear house. The name fuses the French 'duvet' (down) with the Italian 'etica' (ethics). Unusually, the brand built its early reputation by selling almost exclusively into the Japanese market before opening a showroom in Italy. Duvetica's down is sourced from the breast feathers of French grey goose, a byproduct of foie gras production, and garments are sewn at a specialized factory in Bulgaria.
