Kaffeekontor Bonn has hand-roasted coffee in Bonn since 2011, run by Christiane Hattingen, who holds the title of Kaffee-Sommelière — a formal coffee sommelier qualification rather than a self-applied label. Her approach to roasting is explicitly patient: the company describes taking considerable time over each hand roast so that the more than 800 aromas locked inside green coffee beans have room to develop fully, rather than rushing a batch through for volume.

That patience extends to sourcing as well. The roastery frames good coffee as inseparable from fairness and sustainability "from plant to cup," a fair-trade commitment stated as a value rather than a certification badge. Over more than fourteen years in business, the roastery has built a base of repeat customers it credits to consistently high quality standards and close customer attention — the kind of loyalty that is hard to manufacture and easier to earn slowly, batch by hand-roasted batch.
