Kopi Bali (Butterfly Globe Brand)

Kopi Bali's Kupu-Kupu Bola Dunia — Butterfly Globe — brand goes back to 1935, when Djuwito Tjahjadi opened a coffee shop called Bian Ek in central Denpasar; the business, now known as Bhineka Jaya, has stayed in the same family ever since, passing to his son Wirawan Tjahjadi, who modernized processing equipment, marketing and distribution while keeping the original roast and blend that built the brand's local following. Run today as PT Putra Bhineka Perkasa, the company roasts and packs the Bola Dunia coffee sold across Bali under in-house quality control, and supplies its own espresso alongside a brewing service to hotels and cafes on the island — putting Kopi Bali's coffee behind the counter of businesses that never mention the supplier by name. Nearly ninety years after Djuwito first opened the shop, the Bola Dunia coffee is still made to the same standing recipe, one of the oldest continuously running coffee brands on the island, and the company has since pushed the product into international markets through expanded packaging formats aimed at export rather than just local retail.
