What La DoubleJ is known for
Milan fashion house founded 2015 by JJ Martin, originally an online vintage boutique; from 2017 produced ready-to-wear using archival silk prints from Lake Como mills, now including homeware, sold from its Milan flagship.
La DoubleJ began in 2015 when American-born, Milan-based JJ Martin launched it as a shoppable magazine and online shop for vintage clothing she had collected over years, paired with editorial profiles of Milanese women. In 2017 the brand introduced original ready-to-wear, reviving archival silk patterns sourced from a longstanding Lake Como silk mill, and grew from a three-person operation into an independently owned company employing around 70 people. The line has since expanded into shoes, bags, jewelry, accessories and a home collection, all built around bold, saturated prints drawn from mid-century Italian textile archives. Its Milan boutique includes a sunken, mural-covered space nicknamed the 'sacred grotta,' used for community events such as yoga and sound-healing sessions alongside the retail floor. La DoubleJ sells online globally and through its physical Milan store. It is privately owned and operated by Martin, who remains its creative director.
