Martino Midali

Milan

What Martino Midali is known for

Boutique on Via Giuseppe Manno in Cagliari carrying Milan-based designer Martino Midali's knitwear and jersey collections; Midali, born in Lodi province in 1952, opened his first Milan store in Brera in the late 1970s.

Martino Midali was born in the province of Lodi in 1952 and moved to Milan as a young man, working his way into the fashion industry before launching his own label in the late 1970s. He built a reputation as a knitwear specialist who treated jersey as a structural material rather than an accessory fabric, using it to build jackets, skirts and trousers with elasticated waists instead of tailored construction, and experimenting with 'one-dress' garments cut and assembled without visible seams. His first Milan shop opened in the Brera district, followed shortly after by a second on Corso di Porta Ticinese; the label's headquarters later settled at Via Fratelli Bronzetti in Milan. The Cagliari boutique, at Via Giuseppe Manno 47, is one of the brand's standalone retail points outside Milan, confirmed through the brand's own store locator and its dedicated Cagliari social media pages, and carries the label's ready-to-wear and knitwear collections rather than operating as a separate design studio.
