What Milano Coffee is known for

Milano Coffee blends up to 20 origin coffees into its signature espresso, a recipe credited to Master Roaster Brian Turko and honored with 15 IIAC gold medals. Its Vancouver tasting bar serves up to eight espressos side by side.

Milano Coffee marked 22 years in business as of 2026, putting its founding around 2002. Its espresso program is built on blending rather than single-origin purity: house miscelas combine more than ten Arabica varietals, and the espresso itself draws on up to 20 different origin coffees in one cup, a method the company traces to 'a century of artisanship in the Italian coffee tradition.' Up to 70% of the beans in any given blend are organically grown, and the roaster says it supports small farm estates and fair trade sourcing alongside that organic share. The results have picked up outside recognition: Milano lists 15 gold medals from the IIAC (International Institute of Coffee Tasters). At its tasting bars, customers can sample up to eight different espressos side by side -- the company describes this as the only espresso tasting bar setup in Vancouver. Master Roaster Brian Turko is credited by name as the architect of the house's signature 20-bean blend, giving the operation a named figure behind the recipe rather than an anonymous house style. The Conca D'Oro blend, the brand's flagship espresso, is now also sold in Nespresso-compatible pods, extending the tasting-bar recipe into a format meant for home use rather than only in-cafe consumption.
