What Ogasawara Toemon Kiln is known for
Ogasawara Toemon Kiln is run by an eighth-generation potter descended from the workshop's founder, who set up independently in Okawachiyama once the Nabeshima domain kiln system was dissolved. In 1999 it became an early adopter of lead-free glazes in Japanese ceramics, a change it still cites as central to how it makes Nabeshima ware today.
