Paolo Pecora Milano was founded by designer Paolo Pecora, born in 1961, who began his career as a buyer for a group of Milanese stores before launching his own label. He presented a women's collection in 1984, and strong early sales allowed the brand to expand quickly; in 1990 Pecora launched the label's first menswear collection, extending the brand toward a broader, multi-generational customer base. The label expanded its product range over time, launching a line of fragrances and home fragrance products in 2015, and later adding kidswear to the collection. In December 2024, Italian trade press reported that the womenswear license for Paolo Pecora Milano was taken on by the company Modaeffe, described by the brand's leadership as a strategic step in its expansion plans, indicating the house continues to grow its licensing structure alongside its core menswear and knitwear business built around the Pecora family's original focus on thread and construction.
