What The Attico is known for

Milan luxury fashion label founded 2016 by Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, conceived on a New York taxi ride; known for going-out pieces, and 49%-owned since 2018 by Remo Ruffini's Archive holding.

The Attico was founded in Milan in 2016 by Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, two Italian designers who had built reputations as street-style figures before turning to design; per multiple fashion-trade profiles, they conceived the brand in the back of a taxi in New York in September 2015. Its name is Italian for 'penthouse.' The label built early buzz around going-out and after-dark pieces and reportedly landed around 140 stockists with an unusually high sell-through rate in its first year. In 2018, Archive - the investment vehicle of Moncler chairman Remo Ruffini's family - acquired a 49% stake.
